Newly Appointed Corrections Chief
Virginia
Wednesday, 01 February 2012
Praises to God as he continues to remove the obstacles that hinder the taking of CRI into the Virginia Prisons & Jails. Just recently a newly appointed Virginia Department of Corrections Chief has been placed into the position and he states that he views his new Corrections Chief job as a MINISTRY!

Greetings from Celebrate Recovery Inside at CFRC Orlando, FL...

You are invited to the graduation of the CRI class of 2012. As many of you know, we started Celebrate Recovery Inside (CRI) at the FDOC CFRC prison facility's Main Unit in 2010 as an outreach from Celebrate Recovery Orlando with the help of 4Given ministries and the gracious staff at the CFRC facility. Since then we have graduated 2 classes of inmates totaling approximately 75 inmates and have expanded to both the Main and East units. Many of those men return to volunteer every Thursday at CRI to minister to others as peer group facilitators. Just last night we saw 20 decisions for Christ by inmates after hearing a CR testimony. God is certainly changing lives at CRI. Our prayer and hope is to take the CRI program into the South unit in 2012. The leaders for that effort are currently in training. With the Lord's help and your prayers, we can continue to disciple even more men for Christ at CFRC in 2012.

Next week 12 inmates that have been faithful to the CRI discipleship program at the Main Unit will graduate. We will ...

What God is doing behind bars
California - South Valley
Monday, 04 July 2011

It is always a blessing to hear what God is doing behind bars around the country!  Barbed wire & fences are pretty effective in keeping folks inside but downright useless in keeping the Holy Spirit out !!!   Allow me to share one - CRI is partnering with Prison Fellowship in their Transitional Ministry Program (TMP) at the McFarland Community Correctional Facility just outside Bakersfield beginning next month.  The TMP is a series of faith-based classes conducted over 12 months 2 nights per week.  Once paroled  graduates are paired up with spiritual mentors in their community.  One of the expectations for involvement in the TMP is attendance at CRI.  Budgets are being cut, but God is opening doors!!

Just a reminder about the pictures for the Summit - we'd like all areas to be represented, so please consider providing some!

Thanks & Blessings to all - Mike Pitocco

Building relationships in our community
Louisiana
Wednesday, 01 June 2011

This article was published in Saturday's paper at home while we were in Texas. What a welcome home for CRI, it even lists the small group guidelines, great article. Laura attends the Out4Life Coalition Monthly Meetings, the next one is the Tuesday at 11:30am at 1st West Baptist Church, the church home of volunteer and Ministry Leader at Richwood Correctional, Bee Meadows. We have gained many contacts and as a result access to services for our clients by participating in the Northeast Louisiana Regional Re-entry Task Force. Building relationships like this in our community has been so important and beneficial to this ministry.

Tuesday's meeting will partner CRI and many other coalition members with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northeast Louisiana, our special guests on Tuesday, in an effort to promote the mentoring program at BBBS for children of incarcerated parents. Actually, Laura's kids have...

Praises: (top 3 - personal and ministry (local and state))

Chaplain Smith took 5 men through LHC last fall and is taking 15 men through it in January.  He’s in Butler Facility State Prison.  Jeff, the just retired police officer/participant in White Plains CR is ready to begin the process of going inside Westchester County Jail or into the State Prison System.

Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship CR leaders ended this year on lesson 23 and having achieved a good working/ministry relationship – we survived all those first year ministry trials!

I have to add a personal praise. In the past I have asked for prayer for financial struggles. Here’s my God report: On December 4 ...
