Re-entry Project Approved

The Commissioner of Prisons has approved the Re-entry Project on the Island of Fiji, Daniel Savou, Program Assistant at Prison Fellowship Fiji, states that he is presently awaiting confirmation from the Ministry of Justice.

When it starts, Celebrate Recovery Inside will be the first program of the Re-Entry Project. It will cover three months of the project. Twenty inmates will be selected to go through the program. The following three months will have sessions on Risk Management and counseling, before they are released back to the community. The inmates will have a PowerPoint presentation of the program when they launch.

Heavily active in North Carolina

Kicking off the New Year 2008

Cathy Sherman, Ontario Provincial Rep for CR Inside in Canada kicked off the New Year CR Inside Open Share Group in the Grand Valley Institute for Women prison facility with 32 women in attendance.  Nine women have already graduated from their Step-Study, four of which have since paroled and are attending local CR’s in community.  The remaining five women recently completed Sponsor Training as well as completing Testimony Writing workshops.  As you might have guessed, they have also taken on Co-leader positions for the Open Share groups, lead worship and assign weekly greeter’s to their weekly CR sessions. One of the young ladies has become an ambassador for the prison by accompanying the prison chaplain to speak at local churches and the community about how Celebrate Recovery, the Restorative Justice program and how our Savior Jesus Christ has changed her life (click here for an article about her story).
